President Donald Trump spent his 100th day in office in Michigan, marking his first visit to the state since flipping it back to Republican in November 2024.
Trump touted his economic policies at Macomb Community College, claiming that tariffs imposed on trade partners put Michigan first.
The president landed at Selfridge Air National Guard Base on Tuesday (April 29) afternoon. Seeing Air Force One fly overhead is an experience most people on the ground haven’t had before.
After his arrival, Trump spent some time at the base before heading to Macomb Community College for his rally.
He kicked off the day with a significant announcement for Michigan’s auto industry.
Trump signed an executive order to modify auto tariffs to boost domestic production. Now, domestic car makers can receive reimbursements when they import parts.
