UK’s new Prime Minister Liz Truss will reportedly meet face-to-face with President Joe Biden ahead of the Queen’s state funeral on Monday.
Truss, who was thrust into power just 10 days ago, is expected to meet with a handful of world leaders in London before paying her respects to Her Majesty.
Queen Elizabeth II, who died last Thursday at age 96, will be officially celebrated at her state funeral on Monday, Sept. 19.
While it was widely reported that no diplomatic events would be taking place out of respect for the late monarch, a source told The Times the new PM is looking to use the occasion as an opportunity to speak with other leaders.
It’s reported that the world leaders will not be posing for photographs or partaking in any press conferences. The issues they discuss will also remain under wraps.
“They will primarily be about paying their respects and will be low key,” a source told The Times.
