In a dramatic moment at the Olympic Games closing ceremony, movie star Tom Cruise descended from the roof of France’s national stadium before riding off on a motorcycle with the Olympic flag. The stunt represented the handover of the Olympic mission to the next host of the Summer Olympics, Los Angeles 2028. NTD looks at some memorable moments from the finale of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned in the battleground state of Nevada over the weekend. The Democratic presidential nominee rallied in Las Vegas on Aug 10. Harris told voters she would end taxes on tips if elected president. A similar proposal has also been put forward by the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump. The Culinary Workers Union in Nevada endorsed Harris’s plan after the rally. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden says he‘ll be on the campaign trail for Harris in multiple states. He says he’ll do whatever Harris thinks will help the most to defeat her opponent.
